KASHMIR NEWS OBSERVER

Seriously concerned and worried about the pathetic conditions of detenues in different jails in and outside valley and appealing people especially Masjid Imams to rise their voice in Friday sermons, Joint resistance leadership Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said that innocent people particularly youth are being subjected to the worst inhuman and ruthless treatment, to force them to subjugation. Leaders said that lives of these prisoners have been made hell by the ill and sick minded jail authorities. They are being served sub-standard and unhygienic food. They are dumped in dozens in small rooms making them uncomfortable and unable to take turn. Pro-freedom leaders said that they are made to shiver in these chilly cold days and said that to dent the ongoing movement, police has randomly roughed up a large number of youth and then demand hefty sums for their release, turning it into a lucrative business to feed their bellies, defaming and defacing themselves further. Joint resistance leaders said that our bureaucratic class, although well read and highly qualified blindly sanction the dossiers to the people irrespective of their age, physique and gender. Pro-freedom leadership has questioned their intellect, that why they willfully play the role of sub-ordinates of political stooges and obey their orders without testifying on the merits of legal and moral grounds. Leadership said that if education fails to make one differentiate between right and wrong, oppressor and oppressed and only feeds its stomach then these high profile executives may earn the luxuries of life, but they surely be short of surviving and benefiting their own society and will only be the privileged class of social parasites on the common man’s exchequer. Leaders said that they most cleverly act as the motivators to force the pro-freedom sentiment to subjugation. They said the so-called cream of our society, mischievously argues that a social works activists has to be put behind bars as he had foreign dresses in his suitcase. Pro-freedom leaders said that authorities have turned stone hearted to the extent that no sane argument, no humble request can convince them to the right path as if they have taken pledge not to accept the facts or to apply their own mind. Joint leadership said that most of the detainees are in a bad physical state, their families are in shambles. They have physically challenged families which need them as caretakers but authorities most brazenly keep them away to satisfy their egoistic and hate mindset. Leadership said that hundreds of freedom loving people are in almost all the jails in the valley and outside thousands are in police stations and interrogation centers, some are outside the state in Tihar and other jails. Leadership has appealed people to show solidarity and unity with the detainees to convey the oppressor that we can’t dethatch ourselves from our long cherished goal of freedom.
